Our Tango class is perfect for beginning-level dancers
who want to jump start their training and pre-intermediates
who want to brush up on the "fundamentales" of the form.
Tango, which hails from Argentina, could have just been a passing fancy among the dancers early in the 20 th century.
At that time, this provocative dance appealed greatly to the men and women of high society
and epitomized the glamour and elegance of this high society
with women in glamorous gowns and men in tuxes.
Today, we still are enthralled with the grandeur and glamour with the help
of movies such as Scent of a Woman and Evita.
This dance many times connects with the emotions of the movie and the main characters.
Tango is a dramatic dance, sometimes referred to as the “man's dance”
The dance is characterized by walking movements which appear “stalking” or “sneaky”.
Movements can be slow, quick, sharp, staccato, and slithery.
Expect a head snap or a foot flick.
