Merengue
Merengue comes to us from the Dominican Republic. Its origins, however, are still disputed by many, and they can be traced back as far as the second half of the 18th century. Learning to dance Merengue is great if you're looking to improve your hip motion!.
It's surely the easiest door to the world of Latin dancing.
It contains the rhythm, the joyous sensuality and the typical body movements of many other Caribbean dances
Going along with the festive character of the music,
the dance figures can be spontaneous and very improvisational. They can also be sexy and a little wild. Acceptable figures can include pretzels, wraps, ropes, and tunnels. As the basic step is simply marching in nature, hundreds of figures are possible.
